Matsukawa (松川町 Matsukawa-machi ) is a town located in Shimoina District, Nagano, Japan.
As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 14,188 and a density of 194.62 persons per km². The total area is 72.90 km².
It is located about 3 hours by car from Tokyo. Like many other small Southern Nagano villages, it is famous for its apples. During any drive around town you will likely see apple orchards. Farmers from this region often sell their apple juice in big cities like Tokyo for more than twice the price than what it is sold for in Matsukawa and similar towns.
